Mustang Offense Explodes for 16 Runs

Game 2:   After only mustering two runs in the early game, the Lady Mustangs busted out game two for 16 runs on 18 hits.  Once again, Freshman Mikaela Ferreira continues to be the offensive catalyst recording another hit to start the game.  This time it was Sophmore Tawny Deerinck two batters later that drove her in with a double to deep left center.  Sophmore Janelle Rodriguez would follow suit with her own double to stretch the lead to 3-0 in the top of the first.  The Mustangs would add three more runs in the second and third inning as well and then double down in the fourth for seven runs.  Not to be overshadowed by the offense, Freshman Jenna Nauta notched Delta's third consecutive complete game shut out in the circle.  Ferreira ended the game 4-5 with her first collegiate homerun and four RBI's.  Deerinck and Rodriguez both collected three hits and three RBI's apiece.
